Panelists:
Dr. Joy Pedersen has twenty years of experience in higher education, and she serves as the Dean of Students at Cal Poly. She is also the founder of Clarity Collective, a consulting company that helps teams manage change and improve communication, develop and implement strategic plans, and works extensively with individuals with varying perspectives, values, and priorities. Her specialization is creating strategic plans that focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, including recruitment and retention of diverse applications. She has a Masters in Counseling and Guidance from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from University of California, Santa Barbara. She is also a certified Enneagram instructor and Martha Beck life coach.
Wes Love has worked in a myriad of industries before joining an award-winning energy company where he climbed the ranks from entry-level position to a leading consultant. While working full time and helping his wife raise their amazing daughters, Wes earned his BA in Organizational Leadership and Masters of Science in Leadership & Management studies and learned firsthand that an organization can change their people’s lives and benefit the business’s bottom line. He went on to co-found CultureStoke with Marty Imes, where they help leaders and their organizations to build great company culture so they can attract top talent and grow their people and profits. They do this through coaching, consulting, workshops and speaking engagements. In 2019, he became an Adjunct professor at Cal Poly. Wes thinks the central coast is an amazing place to live, he is on a mission to make it an amazing place to work!
Erin Hoffman, is a Senior Consultant at Collaboration Business Consulting, where she uses her expertise in Collaborative Leadership to help organizations build high-performing teams. Erin is dedicated to ensuring the welfare of each team member and recognizes that establishing a culture of trust, communication, and accountability is key to achieving organizational goals and making employees feel valued and invested in the success of the company. Erin’s focus on true growth for both leaders and organizations leads to a healthier and more sustainable workplace culture, ultimately resulting in improved turnover rates. She ensures that clients are inspired, educated, and empowered to succeed.
Panel Moderator Sandi Sigurdson
Throughout 35 years in nonprofit management Sandi Sigurdson has been a champion of board and staff development, insisting that training and education that streamlines operations and administration allows passionate and committed people to concentrate on mission and program delivery. Her motto for budget preparation; ‘Cut your training and you cut your throat’.
