What is a Medal of Merit Award?
The Medal of Merit Awards are given annually to recognize Spokes member organizations that have demonstrated improved governance and management practices. Awards are given at our annual Spokes Salutes Event and are sponsored by the Shanbrom Family Foundation, a Spokes Founders Circle donor.
Three general operation grants of $1,000 each will be awarded to eligible Spokes Member Organizations.
To be considered for a Medal of Merit Award, your organization must:
1. Have a current Spokes Organizational Membership or be fiscally sponsored by a Spokes Organizational Member.
2. Be actively delivering services or conducting the business of your organization.
3. Complete the application by midnight, February 1, 2019.
Previous award recipients are ineligible to apply.

We love to celebrate the dedicated individuals who lead our nonprofit sector; their leadership is critical to the health and well-being of our communities. We honor them each year at the Spokes Salutes awards program. The 2019 program will be held on February 28, 2019 at the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo.
