COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF SLO COUNTY
Grant will help support licensing for lynda.com for more than 90 nonprofit organizations.
San Luis Obispo, CA – Spokes received a $1,625 grant from The Community Foundation of San Luis Obispo County (CFSLOCO). This grant will help purchase licensing from lynda.com to be shared among 90+ nonprofit organizations in 2014. Lynda.com is an online library that provides 24-hour access to more than 50,000 tutorials on various software, design and management courses. The staff and volunteers of nonprofit organizations will be able to access the lynda.com library through their Spokes memberships to strengthen their professional development skills and more efficiently perform the functions of their organizations. By sharing the licensing, Spokes members are able to access lynda.com, as well as many other services and resources, for less cost than purchasing a lynda.com subscription on their own.
Spokes’ grant and is among 27 recently awarded by the CFSLOCO at a total of $121,750. The grant is made possible through the generous support of the Foundation’s Community Endowment and many donor funds held at the Foundation. In 15 years, the CFSLOCO has given out more than $24 million in grants to assist nonprofit agencies. For more information on the CFSLOCO or any funds, call 543-2520 or log onto www.cfsloco.org.
